Jennifer Hartmann, LMFT
Jennifer began her journey with yoga in 1996. She has studied with Tara Brach, Sharon Salzberg, Hugh Byrne, Erich Schiffmann, Sarah Powers, John Schumacher, Michael Lee, Shakta Khalsa, and others. She feels most at home when part of the educational process, as a student or teacher. In 2009, she completed yoga teacher training; in 2019, a Masters in Psychology; and in 2022 became licensed as a Marriage & Family Therapist. Jennifer’s work is focused on healing trauma in the nervous system and soul. She has studied trauma-informed, somatic psychotherapy with David Grand, Peter Levine, and Stephen Porges.
Jennifer’s personal journey has been a rediscovery of wisdom in her body hidden under symptoms of stress from developmental and medical trauma and grief that spans generations. Through facilitation of energy work and somatic, transpersonal psychotherapy, she has found deep joy and peace. Jennifer’s goal is to be a healer who quickly and carefully supports your forward momentum into the present by making peace with the past and future.
“Without the past, where is the guilt?
And without the future, where is the dread?
And without guilt and dread, who am I?”
― Lamb
Wisdom, understanding and compassion are virtues that Jennifer strives for, sometimes landing in the muck of self-doubt, murky ambiguity, or momentary apathy. Her motivation is a belief that all of us fallible humans need each other to thrive, in consciously and consistently fortified connections. Her unique blend of therapeutic knowledge scaffolds the light touch and dialogue of treatment that listens to your system’s expression of its inherent, balanced health.
My belief is in the blood and flesh as being wiser than the intellect.
The body-unconscious is where life bubbles up in us.
It is how we know that we are alive, alive to the depths of our souls
and in touch somewhere with the vivid reaches of the cosmos.
